Dear Santa,
Find me a fake boyfriend I can take home for the holidays...
There are certain things I never thought I’d do. Hiring an escort to pose as my boyfriend sits at the top of that list. But the idea of sitting alone at Mom’s table for the fifth year in a row after my fiancé cheated on me has me feeling desperate. It started as a drunken joke when I let my best friend convince me to fill out an application for a male escort. Now, I’m on my way to see my family with the man I paid for.
He’s nothing like the polished professional I expected—complete with tattoos, a sinful muscular physique, and a blunt attitude. I almost call the whole thing off. Yet there’s something he’s hiding under his gruff exterior, and while I’m supposed to be getting to know my fake boyfriend, I’d rather learn about who this mysterious man truly is.
What started as a simple business transaction isn’t so simple anymore. We can barely keep our hands off each other—even when no one’s watching. The lines we drew in our contract are blurring, and it doesn’t feel like we’re pretending. I can’t keep up with our lie for much longer.
But how can I trust my heart with someone who fakes love for a living?
TW: Depression and talk of suicide in the past.

Although it was a short novella I feel like it had all the pieces of a normal book. I didn’t feel anything super rushed or out of this world unreal. It was written beautifully. It touched on serious issues perfectly. The chemistry was there for the main characters from the start. Nothing was cheesy. I loved it!

Cute and sweet Christmas love story! Christina is a girl who has everything together, except her love life, which her mother cannot accept. So she decides to hire a male escort to come home with her for Christmas to pose as her boyfriend. Little does she know that decision will lead her to Jake. Jake is an ex-rockstar who has no idea what he is doing in life, so when he sees Christina alone in a bar waiting to meet a male escort, he makes an impulsive decision. Jake decides to pose as "Dominick" and go with Christina because he doesn't think it's safe she takes "a stranger" to her family's home. These two have chemistry right away and really get to know each other in just a few short days. But not everything goes according to plan while they are with Christina's family. Kristen Granata knows how to pack a lot into her books, even when they are barely over 100 pages. I love her writing and how you not only get spice, but genuine feelings for these characters and their struggles.

A dark broody rockstar and a sparkly rainbow girl accidental meet cute turned fake relationship. As always Kristen sucks you in with her heartbreaking characters that are funny, sexy and just a little "broken", but they come out stronger and better for it in the end. She doesn't why away from the hard conversations while still keeping it engaging and sexy AF.
